1st Overseas Trip for Baby Esther - Road Trip to Malacca

This is Daddy first long drive on the Malaysian NS highway to Malacca town to celebrate Esther 11th Month birthday. Though the drive only needs 2 hours, it took 2 extra hrs, after getting lost in Malacca town and nagivating against the heavy traffic.

After checking into the hotel, its straight to the Mall and eat dinner

Baby Esther is now getting used to cruising alongside the bedside. She enjoys reaching out for the remote control..So we move the remote control from one side of the bed to another..to keep her moving.

Home Alone with Esther

Today is truly alone with my little one, no help what so ever. This give true meaning to Childcare leave.

Everything is good so far, I managed to read the newspaper, wash the laundry, eat my lunch, check my mails without any problem. Esther did not take to the milk bottle as usual, and I need to make 2 porriage at 10am and 12.30pm, using the defrosted milk. She got so tired watching baby faith and accompanying Daddy to the food stalls, that now she is fast asleep on the cot.

She only managed to sleep for 0.5 hrs. So brought her on the pram outside, to scout for a nearby table tennis table. Came back on time to catch survivor gabon finale and feed her another bottle of milk sucessfully.

She is now asleep on my arms, and will awake to another round of porriage and return of Mommy.

The day started very early at 6pm, just to be early for the registration. But all the fanfare came to a stop, once we realised that I did not register for the Cutest baby contest. To my horror, you need to pay for 2 categories, wondered why they don't put them together. This is what happened, when you do not read the fine print.

Since we are early, Esther is no 1 to be inspected for the healthy baby contest. The doctor does not look they were sure in doing their stuff. The checkups ended quite fast. This probably did us harm in the scores. Being first, can end up last.

Esther's photo on the submitted photos board, labelled "Cutest Baby Contest", which the organisers took down the label promptly.

One thing, to learn from this contest is:

1. Do not need to be early, as being first, you still need to wait.
2. Community Centres are not out to earn your $, if not they will ask direct for $20 instead of separating into 2 categories.
3. Even though you think your baby is the best, the judges will not think so.

Esther got a 2nd flu jap on Wed, on the arm, but maintain a brave front by not crying. Probably the arm skin is thicker than the thigh?

She also demostrated her clawling powers at home and Mama Place, by moving from pt 1 to pt 2 and back. Now, we awaits her walking powers to come soon.

Esther turns 10 months old

Since she turned 10 Months old, a few things happened.

1. She took a first Bus Ride with Daddy.



2. She is able to walk sideways by holding the railing of the cot


3. 1 solid pc of shit is produced

At Granny home

Esther now recognises that we are leaving when we leave her at her granny's home to stay for the night..she started crying, not wanting us to leave..this might be the beginning of teary goodbyes in the future at granny's home..

Esther likes to wave Hi & Bye-Bye..and utters Mama & Papa!

Yesterday, we observed that Baby Esther can wave Hi & Bye-bye upon prompting..she also utters 'Hi' or 'I' while waving. Also observed that she can sometimes clap in tandem with my clapping..she is good in rhythm!

She also utters Mama & Papa spontaneously! When i ask her who she prefers...mama or papa, more than often, its a Ma!

Baby Esther stood up on her own for the first time on Tues (4 Nov), supporting herself at the side of the cot..This signals the need to re-adjust her cot..

9 mths Medical Checkup

Esther officially belongs to the 80% percentile for Height: 74cm, Weight: 8kg and Head Circumference: 45.5cm.

She did a hearing test, scored 6/6. In preparation for any travel, she also took a flu jap.

Esther is 9 months old

Esther spent the late morning visiting her Tai Po and Tai Gong at the Columbarium, while proceeding to the Istana for a Afternoon Stroll.

1 Step at a time

A walker was loaned to us and let Baby Esther the freedom to 'run' around. While her legs are still not strong enough to make her stand, she is able to reach anyone, once she is called upon.

She is now able to support herself up to a sitting position from a lieing position last night.

3 Days 2 Nights @ Pasir Ris Chalet

We put the NTUC voucher to good use and booked a weekend stay at Downtown East Chalet, to celebrate GrandFather Tham Birthday on the 6th Oct.

Posing before out long trek to the closed down Fisherman Village :( Murmurs and complains, filled the air, as the walk was a non-futile one. Kah Loong, ended ferry everybody back to downtown east 2km away.

Baby Esther is the centre of attraction, for Grandfather Tham birthday.

Taking a breather before going to Esacape Theme Park. Senior Citizens > 55 yrs have free admission!

Baby Esther took the only 1 ride - Toot Toot Train, least dangerous of all. At least the senior citizens took some rides to enjoy the fun.

Dinner at Korean Western Chicken place. Do you know they use Olive oil to prepare all their food. You can feel healthy even eating a deep fried drumstick.
